Curriculum Night

Title I (CFDA: 84.010):
The Title I funds are used to provide supplemental core academic instruction, instructional support, and parental involvement and engagement to schools to ensure that all children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach, at a minimum, proficiency on challenging State academic achievement standards and state academic assessments.

ESEA Flexible Learning Program
On February 9, 2012, Georgia’s Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA) Flexibility Waiver was approved by the U.S. Department of Education (US ED). The waiver allows local educational agencies (LEAs) greater flexibility in designing a Flexible Learning Program (FLP). The FLP is an alternative supplemental academic intervention that allows flexibility in designing an extended learning program, tailored to the needs of academically at-risk students in a school in order to provide assistance for students to achieve proficiency in relation to the State Academic content standards.

Parent Involvement:  The  DeKalb County School District will take the following actions to involve parents in the joint development of its districtwide parental involvement plan under section 1112 of the ESEA:
-Conduct quarterly Parental Involvement/Policy meetings.
-Communicate with parents via the website and various forms of media in a timely manner.
